That's not the case no pun intended for me. Because of that slight height difference my Moohie Juice Pack case does not fit and all to the point of the phone getting stuck in it the other hard slide-on cases that I tried would not go on easily.
I gave up on trying to find a hard case because I didn't want to damage my phone or an unpurchased case and settled for a silicon one. Oct 16, AM. Incase Snap Case currently in Apple stores will fit perfectly with the iPhone 4s. The holes perfectly align with the iPhone 4s. I just bought an Incase Snap Case clear design yesterday.
Oct 17, PM. I just posted a topic regarding this of my own. I have a bumper that I used with my iPhone 4. I have since tried it on my iPhone 4s and the mute switch does not align properly. The volume buttoms seems to "work" but I can tell they don't line up properly as well.

But if your old case or bumper has two separate openings, then the mute button would sit a little bit low. One of my frieds used a small drill to notch the bottom of the opening on his iphone 4 case to clear the mute button. Even if you don't adjust the opening, the mute button still functions.

Be careful - I just bought an Incase Snap Case from the Apple site, which says it for iphone 4, but the compatibilty shows both 4 and 4s, and it doesn't fit properly - overall size is fine but the mute switch is jammed.
